Análisis de los retos enfrentados por la pandemia SARS-CoV-2 por estudiantes de octavo grado en un aula bilingüe durante el aprendizaje y la enseñanza del inglés, derivados del uso de herramientas tecnológicas en el Liceo de Nicoya, 2021

Resumen
Esta investigación analiza a profundidad los desafíos y efectos causados por la pandemia del SARS-CoV-2 en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del idioma inglés en un aula bilingüe de un colegio de Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rica en el año 2021. Las personas entrevistadas fueron el estudiantado y un docente de dicha área académica. Se obtuvo información sobre las experiencias vividas en relación con la educación virtual implementada por el Ministerio de Educación Pública, así como los retos enfrentados y las estrategias didácticas aplicadas. Para obtener los datos se utilizaron los instrumentos de entrevista y la encuesta. Se encontró que los retos enfrentados fueron diversos por parte del alumnado y docente, en los que fue necesario aplicar estrategias pedagógicas y herramientas virtuales para llevar a cabo los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de forma exitosa. También, la conectividad a internet y la falta de conocimiento en el uso de herramientas tecnológicas fueron los principales retos a los que debieron enfrentarse el docente y el alumnado. Además, se investigó la importancia de la diversidad en estrategias didácticas y su aplicación en situaciones de necesidad como el periodo de confinamiento por el SARS-CoV-2. Se concluye que las estrategias mencionadas facilitaron la interacción entre el estudiantado y el docente para alcanzar los resultados esperados.
This investigation analyzes deeper the challenges and effects caused by the pandemic of SARS-CoV-2 in teaching and learning English language in a bilingual classroom in a high school in Nicoya, Guanacaste, Costa Rica in 2021. The interviewed people were the students and a teacher of the said academic area. The obtained information was about lived experiences related to the virtual education implemented by the Ministerio de Educación Pública, alike the faced challenges and the didactic strategies applied. To obtain the data the instruments used were the interview and the survey. The challenges found were diverse from the students and the teacher in which it was necessary to apply pedagogic strategies and virtual tools to carry out the processes of learning and teaching in a successful way. Also, internet connectivity and the lack of knowledge in the use of technological tools were the main challenges that students and teacher had to face. Besides, the importance of diversity in didactic strategies and how to apply them in situations of need such as the COVID-19 confinement period was investigated. It concludes that the strategies mentioned facilitated the interaction between the students and the teacher to reach the expected outcomes.
