The pressure associated with online learning—which no one knew how to address—led to increased levels of stress, frustration, suicidal behavior, anxiety attacks, and other symptoms. This prompted the Pérez Zeledón Science High School to go to great lengths to efficiently support its student body and help them manage and overcome their emotional struggles, thereby achieving academic success. This text explores the emotional reactions of students at the Scientific College of Costa Rica, Brunca Region Campus of the National University, as a result of the remote learning model implemented by the institution in response to the emergency situation caused by the pandemic. It also examines how these emotional factors were addressed to ensure that students within the social context of the surrounding area could successfully navigate the learning process, both academically and emotionally. The research was based on the following questions: What strategies were used to address emotional factors during the pandemic at the Scientific College of Costa Rica, Brunca Region Campus of the National University? How effective were the strategies implemented to address emotional factors at the Scientific College of Costa Rica, Brunca Region Campus of the National University?.
