This research is part of the graduation seminar "Teacher training and teaching practices in Social Studies and Civic Education", to opt for the Bachelor's degree in Teaching Social Studies and Civic Education. It seeks to analyze the Social Representations of Social Studies teachers on Teaching Practices in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic for the proposal of improvements in the teaching of Social Studies. For this, the theoretical categories developed are Social Representations, Teaching Practices and Continuing Education. This objective was approached from the phenomenological approach since it admits the realization of studies based on lived experiences. The data analysis was carried out based on the technique of analysis of the origin of the information proposed by Jodelet together with a triangulation of data through a questionnaire, an interview and a focus group. The main conclusions found highlight that there was an increase in the obligations of teachers, which produced a work overload. The associated problems were physical and emotional, which prevented the development of pedagogical tasks. On the other hand, the lack of preparation to deal with atypical educational scenarios such as the one generated by Covid-19 created a series of teaching representations that seek the appropriation of skills for the management and access to virtual tools, materials, and supplies. Finally, the health emergency of COVID 19 forced a transformation of the work normally carried out by the teaching staff, which evidenced the need for training that incorporates new areas of pedagogical and technological development, by emphasizing the specific needs of the Studies Social.
