Opiniones de los miembros de las Municipalidades de Barva y San Rafael acerca de los problemas ambientales de su cantón

Abstract

El presente estudio se realizó en Barva y San Rafael de Heredia, se trabajó con los regidores y suplentes del consejo municipal. Los gobiernos locales son los encargados de tomar decisiones sobre el ambiente de sus cantones, por lo que en el presente estudio se dedicó analizar las creencias, las actitudes, conductas y valores que tiene hacia el ambiente, para determinar si esos resultados permitían explicar la toma de decisiones y las acciones ambientales que han promovido en sus cantones. Para la investigación se utilizó una encuesta con preguntas que permitieran evaluar los factores antes mencionados. La encuesta contiene preguntas sobre dos tipos: abiertas y cerradas. Se aplicó a 51 miembros municipales de ambos cantones de los cuales respondieron 50. Los resultados muestran que todos los miembros de ambas municipalidades que participaron en el estudio poseen conocimientos acerca del ambiente y que el 100% de los munícipes de Barva y un 96% de los de San Rafael poseen actitudes positivas. También se determinó que ellos valoran y realizan acciones positivas hacia el ambiente. Sin embargo, a pesar de sus respuestas, los problemas ambientales aún persisten en cada cantón. Se concluye que ambos grupos municipales no llevan a la práctica acciones que visualicen integralmente el ambiente.

The present study was carried out in Barva and San Rafael de Heredia, working with the councilors and alternates of the municipal council. Local governments are in charge of making decisions about the environment of their cantons, so in the present study it was dedicated to analyze the beliefs, attitudes, behaviors and values ​​that they have towards the environment, to determine if these results allowed to explain the decision. decisions and environmental actions that they have promoted in their cantons. For the research, a survey with questions was used to evaluate the aforementioned factors. The survey contains questions about two types: open and closed. It was applied to 51 municipal members of both cantons, of which 50 responded. The results show that all members of both municipalities that participated in the study have knowledge about the environment and that 100% of the municipalities of Barva and 96% of the those of San Rafael have positive attitudes. It was also determined that they value and take positive actions towards the environment. However, despite their responses, environmental problems still persist in each canton. It is concluded that both municipal groups do not carry out actions that fully visualize the environment.
