This article shows the results of a systematization process of the project titled “Promotion of management and sustainable use with stingless bees in the basins of the Jesus Maria and Barranca Rivers as an alternative to overcome socioeconomic and environmental problems of their inhabitants.” For this, we focus on two groups of women in Guadalupe and Peñas Blancas de Esparza. Both groups were part of the experience during the periods 2017 and 2018. We analyze the activities carried out during the learning process about the use and sustainable management of native stingless bees, a practice known as Meliponiculture. Our final recommendation is that each stage or topic of such a project is complemented with practice, and gives confidence and motivation to participants when activities involve actions in which they, themselves, do things. Being flexible in terms of modifying the methodology proposed in the original project leads to a better approach with the groups.
