Abstract

En la película, Viridiana es una monja, bella y buena a quien la madre superiora envía a ver al tío enfermo. Se trata del viudo de la tía de Viridiana. La monja le dice a la superiora que "preferiría no salir del convento", porque no quiere salirse del buen camino. Según la cultura, las mujeres pueden estar dentro del claustro materno, protector de su virtud, o salirse y convertirse en prostitutas.
