Abstract. The present work will briefly describe some of the activities that have been done in the framework of a research between visual arts and chemistry, which process has served to identify practices that are considered to be relevant and innovative, with potential for their pedagogical application. The objective of the research lies in identifying in these interdisciplinary practices those potential applications for science teaching. The applied methodology is classified as empirical-systematic, in which from exploration the pertinent processes have been systematized for the didactic exercise of specific contents, and through the visual, contents that are specific to science are explored. Among the main findings it was found the use of chemical reactions from the artistic perspective, whose contribution from both the visual and pragmatic lies in a new way of exploring scientific contents, hence contributing to an interactive and diversified teaching that intents to escape conventional hermeticism.
