This publication presents a chapter structure that analyzes teleworking across various areas within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The first section addresses the relationship between teleworking and education, exploring aspects such as methodological innovation in academic teleworking, the challenges for future universities regarding computer-mediated access, research processes in telework environments, the role of students in distance education, and the use of digital culture and tools in higher education. Section 2 addresses teleworking and rights from the perspective of SDGs 2, 8, 10, and 17, framing topics such as ICTs for teleworking, the legal framework for teleworking in public and private organizations, the right to disconnect, teleworking, working hours and hiring mechanisms, and labor flexibility from the perspective of stakeholders immersed in this socio-legal reality. Section 3 addresses the relationship between teleworking, quality of life, and environmental sustainability within the framework of SDGs 1, 3, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 15. Topics related to the presence of sustainable households within the context of quality of life, telemedicine, the environment, and psychosocial aspects are explored in depth. The final chapter addresses the development of strategic guidelines for higher education institutions within the framework of teleworking, based on the Declaration of Public Universities for Sustainability, digital culture, and social transformation through teleworking. Perspectives from different parts of the world and from various social sectors contribute to this reflection, which clearly highlights one of the core roles of higher education institutions: to contribute substantially to the discussion of relevant and strategic issues that contribute to development. In this context, academia, as K. Mannheim pointed out, has the need to transcend particular interests to build collective management strategies.
