Doña Bárbara de Rómulo Gallegos : versión literaria de una realidad histórica

Abstract

Trabajos sobre las obras de Rómulo Gallegos hay muchos. Sin embargo, siendo que la producción novelística del escritor venezolano constituye un mundo tan extenso, siempre habrá lugar para la investigación literaria en su universo artístico. Nosotros siempre hemos admirado su prosa. Y, ahora, aprovechando que Doña Bárbara fue su obra incluida en el Seminario sobre la novela hispanoamericana, del Instituto de Estudios Latinoamericanos de la Universidad Nacional de Heredia, la hemos elegido para orientar hacia ella nuestro estudio literario. En nuestro trabajo quisiéramos disponer los personajes, el espacio y los acontecimientos, en capítulos separados, pero entendiendo que su funcionamiento e interrelación lleva la intencionalidad de presentar el conflicto civilización-barbarie, destacando, como ya lo hicimos saber, que el elemento subordinante es el espacio.

There are many works on the works of Rómulo Gallegos. However, since the novelistic production of the Venezuelan writer constitutes such a vast world, there will always be a place for literary research in his artistic universe. We have always admired your prose. And now, taking advantage of the fact that Doña Bárbara was her work included in the Seminar on the Hispano-American novel at the Institute of Latin American Studies of the National University of Heredia, we have chosen it to guide our literary study towards her. In our work we would like to arrange the characters, the space and the events, in separate chapters, but understanding that their operation and interrelation have the intention of presenting the civilization-barbarism conflict, highlighting, as we have already made known, that the subordinate element is the space.
