The research explores the phenomenon that should be carried out in our schools to promote strategies for self-fulfillment and the achievement of success in academic and therefore professional and labor matters. It arises from the concern based on the experience in the field of guidance, where it is common for students to differ radically between their aptitudes and interests, which makes it difficult for them to make decisions at the time of concluding their high school studies and taking the step to the university stage. Likewise, in these instances, the influence of parents in such choices is more than evident, which causes feelings of frustration, rebellion, apathy and disinterest in their children, causing them to drop out in some cases. The main objective of this study is to determine if this type of phenomena also occurs at the school level and from there, to set precedents in the literature, obtaining conclusions and fundamental recommendations to eradicate this negative situation. It is of utmost importance that the vocational process begins at an early age and that all the actors involved in it are directly involved, seeking not only to identify the main interests and aptitudes shown by the students but also to strengthen them and give them the necessary tools to exploit them, also obtaining the necessary support from their parents, understanding the importance of their children being able to develop as good people, with high values and the satisfaction of seeing their dreams and goals fulfilled in the short, medium and long term.
