Resumen
El plan presenta un diagnóstico interno y externo de la Sede, así como los elementos de estructura y presupuesto necesarios para ejecutar las actividades propuestas en el ámbito académico y administrativo durante el quinquenio establecido. Su elaboración se llevó a cabo gracias a los aportes del personal académico y administrativo de la Sede, quienes contaron con la asesoría de funcionarios de la Vicerrectoría Académica.
Se incluye un análisis de la evolución de la docencia desde 1973 hasta 1998, en el que se evidencia que se han impartido treinta y cuatro carreras y ocho programas docentes. Asimismo, se describen las distintas áreas de investigación desarrolladas, especialmente en el campo de la agricultura, entre 1985 y 1999.
La extensión universitaria constituye un componente fundamental para la Sede, orientando sus proyectos según las necesidades de la comunidad. Entre las principales iniciativas destacan: la creación del Museo Regional del Sur en 1983, la fundación de la Escuela Científica en 1992 y, en 1993, el inicio del funcionamiento del Colegio Científico en convenio con el Ministerio de Educación Pública.
The plan presents an internal and external assessment of the campus, as well as the structural and budgetary elements necessary to implement the proposed academic and administrative activities during the established five-year period. Its development was made possible by the contributions of the campus's academic and administrative staff, who received guidance from officials of the Vice-Rector's Office for Academic Affairs. It includes an analysis of the evolution of teaching from 1973 to 1998, demonstrating that thirty-four degree programs and eight academic programs were offered. It also describes the various areas of research developed, particularly in the field of agriculture, between 1985 and 1999. University outreach is a fundamental component for the campus, with its projects aligned with the needs of the community. Among the main initiatives are: the creation of the Southern Regional Museum in 1983, the founding of the Scientific School in 1992 and, in 1993, the start of operations of the Scientific College in agreement with the Ministry of Public Education.
