A nivel
Social responsibility and sustainability are issues in which there has been progress at an accelerated pace; however, the normality of the work carried out is directed to the work executed by institutions or non-governmental organizations, but it was necessary to highlight the scope of initiatives that are far from this traditional vision, as is the case of this final graduation work, which as part of the challenges generated an alliance with a university project created from the ranks of the extension that executes the National University. Based on the experience of the members of the Cattlemen's Association of Puerto Humo, this project arose with the main objective of developing a sustainability strategy for ASOGAPH in Nicoya Costa Rica, providing tools that promoted the proper organization and empowerment. This was developed in the years 2021-2022, however, for the year 2023, members of the association returned to the need to start work based on the proposed strategy. With respect to the composition of the final graduation project, a theoretical approach was developed based on the theories of stakeholders and integrative theory, at the methodological level it was based on the deductive method, with a mixed approach, with a mixed descriptive and explanatory character. The subjects and sources of information were members of the ForGeExt university team, members of ASOGAPH, and the PH community. With respect to the techniques and tools used, participant observation, diagnosis, telephone vii interview, conversations via WhatsApp, face-to-face and virtual workshops, analysis of materiality and the toolbox were highlighted. In order to achieve the objectives, a benchmarking study was carried out in the first instance to learn about the organizational situation of livestock associations at the national and international level, in order to understand important issues to be strengthened for the development of a sustainability strategy. Subsequently, ASOGAPH's stakeholders were identified in order to visualize its potential alliances. Next, a materiality analysis was carried out for ASOGAPH, allowing the identification of the issues that the association should prioritize according to its objectives. Finally, the development of a sustainability strategy for ASOGAPH was achieved, which allowed the promotion of actions to achieve empowerment and adequate organization. According to this, it was concluded the importance of continuing to work on social responsibility strategies at the community level, promoting good practices, modifying techniques for the proper understanding of the people with whom they are applied. On the other hand, it is recommended to take advantage of the extension processes of the different units of the University to approach the communities and institutions as an agent of change and permanent guide in the subject of SSR from each of the existing careers and academic specialties.
