Hace un diagnóstico de los aspectos generales de la provincia de Heredia, haciendo mención a la regionalización por cantones y al movimiento migratorio. Estudia la estructura productiva caracterizada principalmente por la actividad agropecuaria y el régimen, uso y tenencia de la tierra.
