The purpose of this research is to design a proposal for curricular recommendations, which will integrate the Earth Charter and the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN (United Nations Organization), in the study program of science and environmental education of the ninth year, in a private school in Moravia, San José, Costa Rica. It is a case study type study, for which focus groups and interviews were used aimed at ninth-year students participating in the environmental club, science teachers and academic managers who are the subjects of the research. The results show that students are very interested in science and environmental education classes; but they demand a more active and experiential participation. Likewise, there is little knowledge on the part of teachers and academic managers, curricularly, as well as the new Science Study Program. In addition, there is institutional interest in strengthening its environmental education processes. Based on the results, a proposal of curricular recommendations was designed, both for ninth-year Sciences and for Environmental Education, which promotes inquiry as a methodological strategy and the skills proposed in the Curricular Policy Educate for a new citizenship (Forms of think). Therefore, it was possible to diagnose the state of the environmental and scientific curriculum of the educational center, in order to offer, under the needs and interests of the institution, didactic strategies that include the Earth Charter and the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the skills for environmental decision making. Among the main recommendations, it is suggested that the educational institution execute the proposed action plan, and in the future generate strategies under these same elements, for the Third and/or Fourth Cycles.
