This essay analyzes from a theoretical perspective, the role of the concept of complexity within social philosophy and the theory of the social sciences, using an ontological criterion, so that it leads the agency of the individual towards the emergence of the Other as a community agent. In this sense it is understood precisely that complexity cannot be reduced, associating it with the traditional divisions of the sciences, without destroying its character as a network. The essay also establishes two more edges. On the one hand, the relationship of complexity with the concept of the subject, which appears inserted within the fabric of reality. And, secondly, the role of critical thinking, since the epistemology of complexity seems to have abandoned this aspect of analysis linked to criticism of Western thought. From this, the possibility of a critical and active subject within the same complexity of the real is derived.
