Talking about old age in the Central American isthmus means entering a space of memories and forgetfulness. Older adults in the countries located in the Greater Caribbean Basin bring with them a historical process of a presumed social and identity homogeneity, supported by the development of an economic current committed to capital at the expense of human, animal and environmental welfare. In general, the situations of precariousness and abandonment experienced by those who have accumulated age and have not been able to respond adequately to the demands of production and consumption are identified as a problem on an international scale, in whose search for possible solutions and solutions several social actors take part, starting with the families themselves, the State and its public policies, the churches and non-governmental organizations, as well as local, public and private organizations.
