In the business world, administrative and financial management are interconnected, as the financial aspect is fundamental to validating the logic and viability of any business activity. Rivera et al. (2023) state that this connection cannot be separated: "In business management, it cannot be separated from financial management, because the financial aspect is practically the basis that validates the logic of the business activities of companies in each of their productive sectors" (p. 14). The construction company Hermanos Navarro y Sojo S.A., located in Guápiles, Limón, Costa Rica, faces a series of challenges in this area, as it lacks a structured financial management model. During the period 2021-2023, Hermanos Navarro y Sojo S.A. opted to distribute all of its profits among its three partners, without setting aside funds for contingencies, emergencies, or future investments. This practice has generated significant problems, such as excessive dependence on external financing and the sale of invoices to cover unforeseen expenses, which in turn has led to increased interest costs and greater vulnerability to market fluctuations. The absence of a comprehensive financial strategy exposes the company to significant risks that affect both its internal operations and its relationships with clients. The lack of financial foresight and strategic planning can compromise the company's stability and growth, limiting its ability to face challenges and seize opportunities. Cortes (2022) defines financial strategy as "encompassing a set of key areas such as investment, capital structure, financial risks, profitability, working capital management, and cash management, all of which are necessary to achieve competitiveness and harmonious growth" (paragraph 1). This study aims to design a proposed financial strategy for the construction company Hermanos Navarro y Sojo S.A. that will help achieve efficient administrative and financial management starting in the second half of 2025. The intention is to develop a more robust approach that promotes greater solvency, profitability and liquidity, and that ensures the stability and sustainable success of the company in the future.
