The document analyzes the signing of the loan agreement with the IMF as a government strategy to improve the country's credit rating and the confidence of international investors, with effects on macroeconomic variables such as interest rates and exchange rates. Although this mechanism mainly benefits creditors, business sectors, and politicians, the absence of measures aimed at economic recovery, poverty reduction, and job creation is questioned. It also examines the theory of International Political Economy (IPE) as a framework for understanding the interests of different actors and their impact on decision-making, highlighting both its usefulness and its analytical limitations.
