The Productive Museum Model, presented here as a working proposal for existing museums, was generated from the experiences obtained through the development of an extension pro-ject of the National University in Costa Rica, to establish a Museum of Popular Culture. This museum develops the traditional activities of rescue, research and dissemination and incor-porates the identification and support to the popular cultures, the creative individuals who pos-sess and manage the traditional knowledge of their community, transmitting it through their concrete creative practice.
