Resumen
Esta investigación tuvo como propósito analizar la incidencia de las actitudes de los y las estudiantes hacia las Ciencias Naturales y su repercusión en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes de del Liceo de Platanillo de Barú, Liceo Sinaí y el Liceo de Concepción de Pilas. El análisis es de tipo descriptivo y se enmarco dentro del enfoque cualitativo, ya que con éste se pretende describir situaciones de aprendizaje que se viven en el aula, con base en observaciones detalladas de comportamientos, actitudes y sentimientos, manifestados por los estudiantes y docentes. La literatura utilizada trata temas acerca de la relación existente entre la asignatura de Ciencias Naturales y Matemáticas. Describe las actitudes de los estudiantes hacia la relación existente entre los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje de las Matemáticas y Ciencias Naturales. Muestra temas relacionados con en rendimiento académico. Además mediante la utilización de matrices se interpreta la información suministrada por los sujetos. La población estuvo formada por docentes y alumnos de las tres instituciones educativas, a los cuales se les aplicó diferentes tipos de instrumentos entre los que resaltan: la entrevista, diario de campo, observaciones y otros, necesarios para una investigación cualitativa. Después de haber realizado el presente trabajo de investigación se concluye que la actitud negativa de los estudiantes hacia la asignatura de Matemáticas se ve reflejado directamente en el bajo rendimiento académico en la asignatura de Ciencias Naturales, la cual utiliza a las Matemáticas como una herramienta. Se recomienda incentivar a todos los participantes del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje a cambiar la actitud que se presenta hacia la asignatura de Matemáticas, que en la mayoría de los casos es negativa.
The purpose of this research was to analyze the incidence of students' attitudes towards Natural Sciences and their impact on the academic performance of the students of the Liceo de Platanillo de Barú, Liceo Sinaí and Liceo de Concepción de Pilas. The analysis is descriptive and is framed within the qualitative approach, since it is intended to describe learning situations experienced in the classroom, based on detailed observations of behaviors, attitudes and feelings expressed by students and teachers. The literature used deals with the relationship between the subject of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. It describes students' attitudes towards the relationship between the teaching and learning processes of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. It shows issues related to academic performance. In addition, the information provided by the subjects is interpreted through the use of matrices. The population consisted of teachers and students of the three educational institutions, to whom different types of instruments were applied, among them the following. After having carried out this research work, it is concluded that the negative attitude of the students towards the subject of Mathematics is directly reflected in the low academic performance in the subject of Natural Sciences, which uses Mathematics as a tool. It is recommended to encourage all participants in the teaching-learning process to change the attitude towards the subject of Mathematics, which in most cases is negative.
