This document refers to the final graduation work to opt for the professional Master's degree in Human Rights and Peace Education of the Institute of Latin American Studies-IDELA of the National University of Costa Rica, whose theme of study was entitled "Re-existences. Approaches to liberation from the approach to social narratives on aging and old age in people aged 45 to 60 years participating in AGECO programs in Costa Rica during the year 2022". The topic arises from the researcher's interest in getting to know the perspectives, anecdotes, feelings and thoughts of those who are close to reaching the chronologically established age to enter the stage known as old age. She begins by asking herself that, faced with an aging world and within a modern, capitalist and instrumental logic, how are narratives about this process created? How can these narratives be linked to the social imaginaries that are built from scenarios of age discrimination? And what contributions could emerge from the Philosophy of Liberation?
