This paper presents a theoretical review of Global Value Chains, studies the aerospace industry and Costa Rica's contribution to it, as well as the participation of Costa Rican companies in the global aerospace value chain, and provides different actions to be developed by companies, institutions and government to promote the insertion of Costa Rican small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the global aerospace value chain. The aerospace industry is extremely dynamic, so the search for suppliers is incessant, in that sense, considering the strengths of Costa Rica and its participation in this and other value chains, the participation of local companies should be promoted to maximize the benefits of the country's insertion in these production processes.
