Hypoadrenocorticism, or Addison's disease, represents a great diagnostic challenge because of its similarity to several pathologies, both in its clinical presentation and laboratory findings. We received a spayed French Poodle female dog, 4 years old and weighing 4.8 kg, who presented with vomiting, anorexia, depression and muscle tremors during the previous six days. The patient had been seen by another physician, who treated her for liver impairment with 24-hour fluid therapy, prescription diet, hepatic protectants and discharged her. However, the signs reappeared on the third day after treatment.
