This work is aimed at solving a specific problem: having a local geodetic network, which serves as support both in altimetry and in planimetry when building a work and for its subsequent control. Through the materialization of a network that consisted of 16 points with coordinates for the planimetry and 5 points with elevation referred to the mean sea level, the desired objective was achieved. The planimetric part was carried out by means of the traditional triangulation and trilateration methods, with a later verification of some strategic points by means of the Global Positioning System better known with the acronym GPS. On the other hand, regarding the network of levels, the height differences were determined by means of the geometric leveling method, starting from point 396 of the National Geographic Institute; located on the Anonos bridge, on the road to Escazú.
