Resumen
El proyecto de graduación busca analizar las representaciones sociales desde las
categorías teóricas de ciudadanía y las formas de participación ciudadana que construyen las
personas jóvenes con el fin de contrastar sus experiencias con los aprendizajes obtenidos en
el programa de Educación Cívica del Ministerio de Educación Pública. Se utilizó una
metodología cualitativa con un enfoque fenomenológico. Para el análisis de los datos se
aplicó la codificación teórica y el análisis documental, a partir de los datos obtenidos de
cuatro personas participantes egresadas de secundaria del sistema educativo costarricense.
Los resultados concluyen que existe una relación dialógica en las representaciones
sociales de ciudadanía y participación ciudadana, hay una correspondencia con el abordaje
conceptual del programa de Educación Cívica, no obstante, en las representaciones sociales
de las personas jóvenes coexiste una convergencia de perspectivas que incluyen visiones
desde ámbitos colectivos y cotidianos, las cuales responden a las necesidades del contexto en
el que se desarrolla esta generación etaria.
The graduation project seeks to analyze the social representations from the theoretical categories of citizenship and the forms of citizen participation that young people build in order to contrast their experiences with the learning obtained in the Civic Education program of the Ministry of Public Education. A qualitative methodology with a phenomenological approach was used. For the analysis of the data, theoretical coding and documentary analysis were applied, based on the data obtained from four participating people who graduated from high school in the Costa Rican educational system. The results conclude that there is a dialogic relationship in the social representations of citizenship and citizen participation, there is a correspondence with the conceptual approach of the Civic Education program, however, in the social representations of young people there coexists a convergence of perspectives that include visions from collective and daily areas, which respond to the needs of the context in which this age generation develops.
