This didactic guide is a pedagogical proposal aimed at students and teachers who teach research courses at the Brunca Regional Office of the National University of Costa Rica. Therefore, the main purpose of this guide is to provide an educational tool that accompanies the learning of the research process from a multi, inter and transdisciplinary approach (MIT) regardless of the program to which the course belongs. Specifically, six sections were developed in the guide: the first offers a contextual framework with key elements of the Brunca Regional Headquarters, allowing to situate the research and relate it to what is happening in the region. The second section covers a series of basic concepts that provide the key knowledge bases for the research process. This section also includes an example of a basic outline for the preparation of the research report. In addition, the third part offers a series of activities that the teacher can develop in class that would allow him/her to generate ideas and research proposals within the scope of the course in which the guide is developed. Similarly, the fourth part addresses the process for identifying the research problem from a theoretical-practical process. However, the last section details methodological aspects, which emphasizes philosophical aspects that guide the research objective and the possible goals to be achieved with it. Now, in the understanding that the philosophical element has been conceived throughout history as the way to explain the world, nature and the human being, this section allows making a connection between the approach to general problems and specific problems. This being so, this is done from different disciplines, which allows for the generation of a solid knowledge base. It is important to mention that this guide was subjected to a validation process by three academics from Headquarters with experience in teaching this type of course, who analyzed its content and applicability.
