Resumen
El artículo analiza las posibilidades de internacionalización que tienen 14 microempresas de la Región Brunca. Para ello se valoran las condiciones competitivas internas de la empresa y el ambiente de negocios que proporciona el entorno donde esta se desarrolla. Los cantones de Buenos Aires, Coto Brus y Golfito presentan condiciones de vulnerabilidad social, y por sus características socioeconómicas favorecen las actividades productivas que requieren bajo nivel educativo vinculadas a la agroindustria y al comercio. La actividad económica en la zona está relacionada a grandes empresas exportadoras agrícolas y a muchas pymes en el área del comercio y los servicios. El análisis de este grupo de micro y pequeños empresarios(as), que no tienen mucho tiempo de haber iniciado sus pequeños negocios, permite realizarles un estudio socioeconómico para determinar su potencial y analizar sus posibilidades de sostenibilidad y crecimiento. Los resultados son satisfactorios en la medida en que se evidencia una voluntad emprendedora muy grande. Por su parte, las necesidades de capacitación resultan evidentes tratándose de que sean negocios vinculados con el sector servicios.
