The cultivation of mullet (Mugil curema) was evaluated in three intertidal ponds of 50m2 each, located in Punta Morales, Puntarenas province, Costa Rica and fertilized with bovine excreta, for a period of 6 months. Organic fertilizers (bovine excreta) were applied at the rate of 100kg wet material / ha / day. Two treatments and one control (Treatment 1, without fertilization) were evaluated. In the first (Treatment 2) the exfreta was placed weekly in a floating box and in the second (Treatment 3) it was supplied directly, during the experimental period for periods of five days each week. Dormitator latifrons, Centropomus robalito and penido shrimp were the companion fauna of the culture that contributed the highest biomass in the three experimental treatments.
