La actividad forestal en la provincia de Heredia

Abstract

Este ensayo aporta desde una perspectiva empírica, algunos elementos fundamentales relacionados con la situación forestal en la provincia de Heredia, con mayor énfasis mayor en la parte sur de la provincia; es decir, la ubicada en el Valle Central. Particularmente se describen brevemente los recursos forestales contenidos en los diversos ecosistemas, el papel de la Administración Forestal del Estado, la situación competitiva para la industria forestal. Finalmente se hace referencia a las oportunidades de involucramiento de la sociedad civil y el rol de los interesados que pueden verse afectados o afectar el establecimiento de políticas o de actividades forestales privadas en la provincia de Heredia.This essay provides, from an empirical perspective, some elements fundamentals related to the forest situation in the province of Heredia, with greater greater emphasis on the southern part of the province; that is, the one located in the Central Valley. In particular, the forest resources contained in the various ecosystems, the role of the State Forestry Administration, the competitive situation for the forestry industry. Finally, reference is made to the opportunities of civil society involvement and the role of stakeholders who may be affected or affect the establishment of policies or private forestry activities in the province from Heredia.
