Representaciones Sociales en la Formación Inicial Docente sobre Territorio y la Construcción del Pensamiento Geográfico de los Estudiantes de Primer y Cuarto Nivel, en la Carrera de Enseñanza de los Estudios Sociales y la Educación Cívica de la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica

Resumen
El presente Trabajo Final de Graduación se desarrolló con el objetivo general de
analizar las representaciones sociales sobre territorio de los estudiantes de primer y
cuarto nivel en la carrera de Enseñanza de Estudios Sociales y Educación Cívica, para la
comprensión del pensamiento geográfico en la formación inicial docente de la
Universidad Nacional. Se enfocó en estudiar la enseñanza de la geografía de la carrera
por medio de las representaciones sociales, el territorio, la formación inicial docente y el
pensamiento geográfico. A partir de la investigación se identificó que por medio de las experiencias
vividas y la noción de pensamiento geográfico las y los estudiantes de I y IV nivel
construyen su idea de territorio. En el caso de I nivel su concepción de territorio se
concibe a través de elementos como la cultura, identidad, vínculo emocional por medio
de sus amigos y familia. Mientras que los de IV nivel conciben el territorio a partir de
una dimensión emocional, el espacio vivido, las prácticas cotidianas y sociales que se
interrelacionan con los aspectos físicos-naturales del espacio geográfico. La
reconstrucción de representaciones sociales posibilitó el análisis de los mecanismos de
formación de estos significados y las formas de colectivización de imágenes, ideas e
información por medio de relaciones entre estudiante-estudiante, estudiante-docente y
estudiante-comunidad.
The present Final Graduation Paper was developed with the general objective of analyzing the social representations on territory of first and fourth level students in the career of Social Studies Teaching and Civic Education, for the understanding of geographical thinking in the initial teacher training of the National University. He focused on teaching the geography of the career through social representations, territory, initial teacher training and geographical thinking. From the research it was identified that through the lived experiences and the notion of geographic thinking the students of I and IV level build their idea of territory. In the case of I level, their conception of territory is conceived through elements such as culture, identity, emotional bond through their friends and family. While those of IV level conceive the territory from an emotional dimension, the lived space, the daily and social practices that are interrelated with the physical-natural aspects of the geographical space. The reconstruction of social representations made possible the analysis of the mechanisms of formation of these meanings and the forms of collectivization of images, ideas and information through relations between student-student, student-teacher and student-community.
