Sistema de medición de deformaciones volcánicas para el departamento de deformaciones del Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica

Abstract

En la actualidad se hace necesario contar con sistemas de información, que apoyen el quehacer de las labores diarias, con los cuales el trabajo se realice de manera más sistemática y ordenada. Esta necesidad está presente en el Departamento de Deformaciones del Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica (OVSICORI), dando origen a desarrollar una herramienta especifica que satisfaga las necesidades de captura, almacenaje, procesamiento, representación gráfica y elaboración de informes mensuales. Para el desarrollo del proyecto se investigaron las técnicas geodésicas aplicadas por el departamento de deformaciones en los volcanes en estudio de Costa Rica (Arenal, Poás, Irazú, Turrialba, Platanar y Rincón de la Vieja). El trabajo que se presenta seguidamente, está conformado por una estructura de 6 capítulos. En el primer capítulo se describen aspectos generales del proyecto como la reseña histórica del departamento de deformaciones del OVSICORI, definición del problema, justificación, objetivos del proyecto y alcances. En el segundo capítulo se describe el marco teórico que introduce al lector en un contexto de la investigación y algunos detalles de los procesos que constituyen la base de este trabajo. En el tercer capítulo se explican las actividades de la metodología utilizada para el desarrollo del sistema.

Currently it is necessary to have information systems that support the daily tasks, with which the work is carried out in a more systematic and orderly manner. This need is present in the Department of Deformations of the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), giving rise to the development of a specific tool that meets the needs of capture, storage, processing, graphical representation and preparation of monthly reports. For the development of the project, the geodetic techniques applied by the department of deformations in the volcanoes under study in Costa Rica (Arenal, Poás, Irazú, Turrialba, Platanar and Rincón de la Vieja) were investigated. The work presented below is made up of a structure of 6 chapters. In the first chapter, general aspects of the project are described, such as the historical review of the OVSICORI deformation department, definition of the problem, justification, project objectives and scope. The second chapter describes the theoretical framework that introduces the reader to a research context and some details of the processes that form the basis of this work. The third chapter explains the activities of the methodology used for the development of the system.
