Controlaron el espacio hombres, mujeres y almas. 1880-1941

Abstract

Este artículo tiene dos partes. Ambas son apenas propuestas iniciales. La primera intenta reconstruir el proceso mediante el cual se llegó a controlar el espacio de lo que hoy conocemos como Costa Rica y la segunda trata de recrear como desde diferentes mecanismos de control se buscó consolidar una imagen territorial de nuestro país. Para hacer esto último será preciso centrarse en tres tipos de mecanismos: los de corte judicial y concretamente en la codificación penal; los de corte educativo y para esto se partirá de la enseñanza de la geografía, finalmente se hará referencia a los de corte religioso y habrá que sacar del baúl de los recuerdos a un viejo estudio, que hoy ubicamos en una dimensión mucho más amplia que ayer.This article has two parts. Both are just initial proposals. The first tries to reconstruct the process through which the space of what we know today as Costa Rica was controlled and the second tries to recreate how, from different control mechanisms, we sought to consolidate a territorial image of our country. To do the latter, it will be necessary to focus on three types of mechanisms: judicial ones and specifically criminal codification; those of an educational nature and for this we will start from the teaching of geography, finally we will refer to those of a religious nature and we will have to take out of the trunk of memories an old study, which today we place in a much broader dimension than yesterday .
