Resumen
El presente trabajo de investigación surge a raíz del problema de bajas calificaciones en los temas de Geografía que enfrentan numerosos estudiantes de sétimo año de los centros educativos de secundaria, en especial los del Colegio Técnico Profesional de Corredores. Así como, también, por la ausencia de estrategias tanto de enseñanza como de aprendizaje en los docentes de Estudios Sociales, coadyuven a reviertan dicho problema. Es importante rescatar la idea de defender el valor formativo de la geografía para explicar los problemas medioambientales en diferentes escalas y, además, su capacidad para ayudar a los alumnos a adquirir el grado suficiente de autonomía intelectual para explicar otros problemas de carácter social que ocurren en lugares próximos y lejanos. Es urgente ofrecer una manera de trabajar que favorezca la autoestima profesional, y sobre todo mejorar el aprendizaje de sus alumnos. Debe cambiarse la forma de enseñar ya que, con la actual, se sigue acumulando datos y conceptos sobre un objeto de aprendizaje culturas, ciudades. Lo que causa pérdida de interés a los ojos de los estudiantes. La tarea de esta investigación es despertar el sentido de utilidad de la Geografía en aspectos de la vida diaria de los estudiantes del Colegio Técnico Profesional de Corredores. Así como dar a conocer a los profesores la importancia de utilizar estrategias más participativas y dinámicas que permitan despertar la atención, desarrollar sus capacidades y sobre todo el interés de los alumnos; sin olvidar la necesidad de que autoridades educativas asuman una posición más responsable en cuanto al interés sobre cómo se enseña y aprende Geografía en nuestro país. Lo anterior repercutirá en un mejor rendimiento en los contenidos de Geografía que se deban desarrollar.
The present research work arises as a result of the problem of low grades in Geography subjects faced by numerous seventh year students of secondary schools, especially those of the Colegio Técnico Profesional de Corredores. As well as, also, by the absence of teaching and learning strategies in Social Studies teachers, which help to revert this problem. It is important to rescue the idea of defending the formative value of Geography to explain environmental problems at different scales and, in addition, its capacity to help students acquire sufficient intellectual autonomy to explain other problems of a social nature that occur in nearby and distant places. It is urgent to offer a way of working that favors professional self-esteem, and above all to improve the learning of their students. The way of teaching must be changed since, with the current way of teaching, data and concepts continue to be accumulated about an object of learning, cultures, cities. This causes loss of interest in the eyes of students. The task of this research is to awaken the sense of usefulness of Geography in aspects of daily life of the students of the Professional Technical College of Corredores. As well as to make teachers aware of the importance of using more participative and dynamic strategies that allow them to awaken the attention, develop their capacities and above all the interest of the students; without forgetting the need for educational authorities to assume a more responsible position regarding the interest in how Geography is taught and learned in our country. This will result in a better performance in the Geography contents to be developed.
