Bioeconomía en el ámbito universitario: Aportes desde el Programa UNA-Bioeconomía

Abstract

Costa Rica is considered one of the twenty-five most biodiverse countries in the world, with an estimated 4% of the planet's biodiversity. Its biodiversity and location contribute to the country's incorporation into value chains in the north of the continent and Europe. The UNA bioeconomy program has three objectives: to identify historical contributions and current efforts in the field of bioeconomy; to promote and disseminate capacities to provide continuity to the incorporation of bioeconomy in the professional profiles of students; and finally, to articulate future actions and projects based on the subject. The academic actions developed so far by the Program in collaboration with the Vice Rector's Office for Research and various programs, projects and initiatives, have had a positive impact on the promotion of bioeconomy at institutional and national level.

Costa Rica es considerado uno de los veinticinco países con mayor biodiversidad en el mundo, al estimarse que posee un aproximado del 4% de la biodiversidad del planeta. Su biodiversidad y ubicación contribuye a la incorporación del país en las cadenas de valor en el norte del continente y Europa. El programa UNA bioeconomía posee tres objetivos, con los que identifican aportes históricos y esfuerzos actuales en el ámbito de la bioeconomía, promueven y divulgan las capacidades para dar una continuidad a la incorporación de la bioeconomía en los perfiles profesionales de los estudiantes y finalmente, articulan futuras acciones y proyectos en base a la temática. Las acciones académicas desarrolladas hasta el momento por el Programa en colaboración con Vicerrectoría de Investigación y diversos programas, proyectos e iniciativas, han impactado positivamente al impulso de la bioeconomía a nivel institucional y nacional
