Human beings, to keep up to date with the advances and transformations that are taking place, occur both in nature and in society, properly speaking, they need to be updated and learn about the new developments that occur every day. In the same way, it is important that can reaffirm and enrich themselves with the new knowledge that is developed from the different perspectives of science, particularly social sciences. It is for this reason that it is important to know what the expectations of the different groups with which we will work in order to offer them appropriate alternatives with the needs detected. A training project must respond, in a manner particular, to the interests and needs of the population that will be subject to it. The “Training for Sustainable Regional Development” project, among its objectives, contemplates the training of community leaders, linked to grassroots organizations local, one of them expressed in the following: ”will involve the transfer of basic knowledge for the purpose of improve the participation of these people in regional development programs. Training for these leaders will take the form of annual three-week workshops. days in each country.” The training topics will be determined by the members of the local grassroots organizations of the canton of Sarapiquí, district of Horquetas, according to their areas of greatest interest and their needs, but the project revolves around three axes strategic: environment, women and poverty. This means that any process of Training has these axes as context and reference point. It is expected that the training processes will begin in this canton, with the grassroots organizations, but later they will be expanded to institutions and other non-governmental organizations of this same canton, aspiring to generate the same processes throughout the province of Heredia, a posteriori.
