La experiencia religiosa de las mujeres evangélicas: análisis sociológico de la subjetividad e intersubjetividad de las integrantes del grupo “Mujeres Virtuosas” durante el año 2019

Abstract

La presente investigación constituye un aporte al estudio del protestantismo, cuyas distintas expresiones han ganado relevancia en América Latina durante las últimas décadas. Específicamente, se suscribe la discusión acerca del hecho de que, históricamente, han sido las mujeres quienes presentan mayor anuencia hacia lo religioso, aun cuando las distintas religiones se han caracterizado por la reproducción de las jerarquías de género, en detrimento de estas (Universidad Bíblica Latinoamericana, 2009). En concreto, se estudió el grupo evangélico “Mujeres Virtuosas”, de la Iglesia Efrata, en el cantón de Belén, de la ciudad de Heredia, Costa Rica, durante el año 2019. Con la investigación se pretendía diversificar los estudios acerca de la relación entre mujeres y protestantismo, al centrarse en las relaciones entre las integrantes de una agrupación evangélica, y los significados que ellas construyen intersubjetivamente, los cuales forman parte de su subjetividad. Para este fin, la investigación se apoyó en la teoría feminista, principalmente la línea teórica vinculada con el feminismo de la igualdad, el cual brinda la posibilidad de comprender la cotidianidad y las relaciones entre las participantes de la agrupación evangélica, problematizándolas en un contexto patriarcal y androcéntrico, espacio dentro del cual, por medio de representaciones sociales, conceptos normativos, y simbolismos, se ha mantenido a las mujeres en una posición inferiorizada con respecto a los hombres. Asimismo, la investigación se fundamentó en la teoría de la fenomenología social de Alfred Schütz. La misma se interesa por los significados que cada persona les otorga a las acciones; además de la intersubjetividad que surge como producto de una simultaneidad espacio-temporal. 6 Por su parte, la sociología de la religión de Peter Berger aporta al entendimiento de estos significados desde la cosmovisión religiosa que conforma al grupo. Al estudiar las experiencias religiosas de las mujeres desde las relaciones entre ellas, se logra visibilizar ambivalencias: Pese a que no se puede negar que dentro de estos espacios se reproducen dinámicas patriarcales, la presente investigación analizó el hecho de que también se llevan a cabo relaciones solidarias, y que para las integrantes, el compartir con otras les ha dado herramientas, no solo para sobrellevar situaciones difíciles, sino también para tomar acciones que han evidenciado formas de empoderamiento, como por ejemplo, salir de relaciones sentimentales violentas

The present investigation constitutes a contribution to the study of Protestantism, whose different expressions have gained relevance in Latin America in recent decades. Specifically, the discussion about the fact that, historically, they have been the women who present greater consent towards the religious, even when the different religions have been characterized by the reproduction of gender hierarchies, to the detriment of these (Latin American Bible University, 2009). Specifically, the evangelical group "Virtuous Women", from the Efrata Church, in the canton of Belén, of the city of Heredia, Costa Rica, during the year 2019. With the investigation, intended to diversify studies on the relationship between women and Protestantism, by focusing in the relationships between the members of an evangelical group, and the meanings that they they construct intersubjectively, which are part of their subjectivity. To this end, the research was based on feminist theory, mainly the theoretical line linked to the feminism of equality, which offers the possibility of understanding the daily life and the relationships between the participants of the evangelical group, problematizing them in a patriarchal and androcentric context, a space within which, through of social representations, normative concepts, and symbolisms, women have been kept in an inferior position compared to men. Likewise, the research was based on the theory of social phenomenology of Alfred Schutz. It is interested in the meanings that each person gives to actions; in addition to the intersubjectivity that arises as a product of a space-time simultaneity. 6 For its part, Peter Berger's sociology of religion contributes to the understanding of these meanings from the religious worldview that makes up the group.
