Over the years, the business industry has played an important role in the economic development of the country; this incipient actor in the last decade has been standing out in the global system, seeking greater participation, generating collective links with the State and obtaining important reforms in trade policies both inside and outside the country. This new economic era of development and business creation has allowed the country to enter a global dynamic that is moving at a speed never seen before. The export opportunity that Mafam has, is a particular example of how a company can enter the international market and thus be able to have greater returns in the incursion of its products in another market; hence our opportunity to investigate the subject. Industrias Mafam is a Costa Rican company that offers baked products with high nutritional value for consumers, seeking as a company to promote social, environmental and economic balance in the target market and community. Industrias Mafam's main market is concentrated in Costa Rica, with 84%, being supermarkets, mini-supermarkets, grocery stores, pharmacies, convenience stores, government institutions and universities, its main markets. The other 16% is exported to Panama, Central America, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Chile. They are currently working to strengthen their sales in Central America, especially with the aim of expanding into the South American market, especially Peru. The Free Trade Agreement between Peru and Costa Rica will provide opportunities that will facilitate the export of Nutrisnacks sugar-free crackers under subheading 190531 to that country. Among the commercial facilities that can be highlighted is the entry into the Peruvian market with a 0% tariff, which responds to the treatment of origin of the merchandise. Regarding Costa Rican regulations and formalities for the export of cookies, no technical note or special permit is required from the Ministry of Health or any other entity in Costa Rica. The rest of the documents required for export represent only forms of standardization of measures and conditions of the interested parties; therefore, they should not be considered as obstacles. In this project it was determined that in Costa Rican territory the number of documents and requirements are minimal and many of them are carried out by the customs agencies. However, with regard to Peru's access regulations, this project studies the labeling and phytosanitary standards required by the country under study. These regulations require several documentary procedures. However, by carrying them out in advance, the company can move forward without any setbacks. The Peruvian market has a gastronomic culture that is highly appreciated worldwide; in addition to valuing product quality, it is also currently following a healthy trend in terms of the nutritional value of prepared foods and their effects on consumers' health. Industrias Mafam believes that the nutritional value of its products favors its expansion into more international markets. However, the success of the internationalization of a product does not only lie in the quality of the product; the company's marketing opportunities must also be taken into account.
