El teletrabajo, valoraciones de las personas trabajadoras en relación con las ventajas y desventajas, percepción de estrés y calidad de vida

Resumen
Este artículo presenta los resultados de un estudio dirigido a un grupo de per-sonas teletrabajadoras en Costa Rica, para conocer la valoración que poseen de las ventajas y desventajas del trabajo a distancia, la percepción de estrés y sus efectos en la calidad de vida. La metodología utilizada para la recolección de información fue mediante entrevistas, de tipo cualitativo, con alcance descriptivo. Los resultados de este estudio, muestran las opiniones de las personas en dos escenarios: el primero, en circunstancias normales donde existe un acuerdo entre el patrono y el trabajador para rea-lizar teletrabajo, y el segundo, forzado por las condiciones de la pandemia del COVID-19. Se concluye que la información obtenida en el estudio es de interés para los responsables de tomar decisiones vinculadas a la gestión del talento humano, el bienestar y la salud integral de las personas teletrabajadores, y se brinda una serie de recomendaciones para mejorar la calidad de vida de los trabajadores
This article presents the results of a study on a group of persons who perform telecom-muting work in Costa Rica, to know their assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of working in a non-face-to-face environment, as well as their perception of levels of stress and its effect on their quality of life. The methodology employed for collecting information was through open interviews for qualitative and descriptive data. The results show that the opinions of interviewees can be roughly grouped based in two different scenarios: the first, in which there is an agreement between employer and employees to perform telecommuting, and the second, in which forced by the circumstances of the Pan-demic of COVID-19. The study offers information of significant relevance for those in charge of making decisions with respect to human talent, welfare and the integral health of workers engaged in telecommuting; several recommendations dealing with these is-sues are offered
