The main objective is to show the processes of struggle initiated with greater force by this indigenous population, due to the impositions of the new Sandinista government that sought cultural homogenization, for which it is of utmost importance to address the period that includes the transition between the Sandinista Revolution and the counterrevolutionary struggle. Methodologically, a qualitative content analysis was carried out on the Costa Rican newspaper La República and as a fundamental element to complete and make the editorial narrative more complex, the oral account of Miskitos living in Rincón Grande de Pavas, in San José, Costa Rica, is used. Finally, the main results of the research shed light on the processes of struggle that arose to free the population from the oppressions suffered during this time of transition and highlight its impact at both the historical and sociocultural and political levels.
