Resumen
Es un placer presentarles este libro titulado Mujer, gobernanza y política internacional, que surge del esfuerzo conjunto de un grupo destacado de personas académicas y expertas en relaciones internacionales, género y política. A lo largo de cuatro capítulos se abordan aspectos cruciales de la participación de las mujeres en la gobernanza internacional, con un enfoque especial en el contexto costarricense.
La participación de las mujeres en la gobernanza internacional es un aspecto crítico para abordar los desafíos globales de manera inclusiva y equitativa. Este libro se centra en analizar la relación existente entre la participación de la mujer en la gobernanza internacional y su impacto en el ámbito del comercio internacional, a través de un análisis detallado de estudios y perspectivas relevantes, que exploraran los avances, desafíos y la importancia de empoderar a las mujeres en dichos ámbitos.
Para entender la participación actual de las mujeres en la gobernanza internacional, es esencial contextualizar históricamente la evolución de su rol en este ámbito. En su obra La Segunda Ola (1981), Friedan destaca el surgimiento del feminismo en la década de 1960 como un catalizador para la lucha por los derechos civiles y la igualdad de género. It is a pleasure to present this book entitled Women, Governance and International Politics, which is the joint effort of an outstanding group of academics and experts in international relations, gender and politics. Four chapters address crucial aspects of women's participation in international governance, with a special focus on the Costa Rican context. Women's participation in international governance is a critical aspect of addressing global challenges in an inclusive and equitable manner. This book focuses on analyzing the relationship between women's participation in international governance and its impact on the international trade arena, through a detailed analysis of relevant studies and perspectives, exploring the progress, challenges and importance of empowering women in these areas. To understand the current participation of women in international governance, it is essential to historically contextualize the evolution of their role in this field. In her work The Second Wave (1981), Friedan highlights the emergence of feminism in the 1960s as a catalyst for the struggle for civil rights and gender equality. This movement influenced the expanded opportunities for women in various spheres, including participation in international organizations....
