Educar a los jóvenes en su deber como ciudadanos”: Historia y su enseñanza en la formación inicial

Resumen
En Costa Rica la formación de docentes de secundaria en la materia de estudios sociales se basa en el aprendizaje de dos disciplinas de las ciencias sociales: historia y geografía. Por tanto, en la ponencia se presentan los resultados de un análisis sobre la historia y su enseñanza a historiadores que trabajan en la formación inicial docente. El objetivo es describir los discursos de los docentes universitarios en Costa Rica sobre la historia y su enseñanza, con la finalidad de caracterizar la formación inicial docente. La metodología empleada es un estudio de casos múltiples, cualitativo-descriptivo. El método de esta etapa preliminar fue la aplicación de un cuestionario con preguntas abiertas y cerradas sobre el tema, que se codificaron temáticamente y triangularon. Las unidades de análisis fueron 6 docentes que imparten lecciones de historia en 3 universidades públicas de Costa Rica. Los resultados muestran que la ciudadanía es un discurso presente en la función de la enseñanza de la historia, mas no de la disciplina histórica, la cual se explica solo desde el pasado.
n Costa Rica, the training of secondary school teachers in the subject of social studies is based on the learning of two disciplines of the social sciences: history and geography. Therefore, the paper presents the results of an analysis of history and its teaching to historians who work in initial teacher training. The objective is to describe the discourses of university teachers in Costa Rica about history and its teaching, in order to characterize initial teacher training. The methodology used is a study of multiple cases, qualitative-descriptive. The method of this preliminary stage was the application of a questionnaire with open and closed questions on the subject, which were coded thematically and triangulated. The units of analysis were 6 teachers who teach history lessons at 3 public universities in Costa Rica. The results show that citizenship is a discourse present in the function of teaching history, but not of the historical discipline, which is explained only from the past.
