Abstract

Se da cuenta de un estudio cuyo objetivo fue analizar al grupo de personas adultas y adultas mayores inmigrantes que participan en los Cursos Libres del Programa de Atención Integral de la Persona Adulta Mayor (PAIPAM). Se realizó entre los meses de setiembre y octubre de este año. Se aplicó una encuesta telefónica. Entre los resultados más significativos se encontró que el 73% provienen de Centroamérica, el 46% tiene de 31 a 35 años de vivir en Costa Rica, que entre los motivos para venir están las guerras que se vivían en sus países, porque sus hijos se vinieron y luego ellos(as) decidieron venir también, que en algún momento de su vida adulta temprana y tardía desearon volver a sus países, pero que hoy en su adultez mayor no lo consideran, que de los elementos culturales de su país lo que conservan son algunas comidas, que el proceso de adaptación fue, para la mayoría, fácil, entre otros datos.
