Diagnóstico de asentamientos y comunidades en Sarapiquí

Abstract

En el marco del proyecto "Capacitación para el Desarrollo Regional Sostenible", hemos realizado el presente diagnóstico en doce comunidades y asentamientos del cantón de Sarapiquí, ubicado en la provincia de Heredia. La información requerida para realizar este documento fue elaborada por estudiantes de sociología en el curso Taller de Diagnóstico Social, a cargo de la Dra. Ana María Balbontín. Otro aspecto importante que queremos considerar es que a partir de éste diagnóstico podemos tomar decisiones en cuanto a capacitación, para que éstas comunidades y asentamientos tengan acceso a un desarrollo real, en tomo a los ejes fundamentales para el desarrollo de cualquier unidad poblacional no sólo asentamientos, comunidades o cantones sino también del país mismo, con una sensibilidad auténtica tanto en lo ambiental como social. Las comunidades y asentamientos en los cuales se trabajó fueron las siguientes: Chilamate Mamate, Gérika, La Chiripa (INTACO), Pablo Presbere, La Chaves, Brisas del Río, Tikarí, Nazareth, La Flaminia, Huetares, Cubujuquí y La Victoria. Éstos asentamientos y comunidades presentan una serie de características distintivas que desarrollaremos en el documento, pero además tienen particularidades que los hacen diferentes de otros en el cantón, por ejemplo; Pablo Presbere, La Chaves, Brisas del Río, Tikarí, Nazareth, La Flaminia, Huetares, Cubujuquí, y La Victoria, tienen tiempos de fundación muy distintos, y es esto lo que les da su categoría de asentamiento o comunidad. Se ubican en Horquetas, y cuentan con abastecimiento o comunidad. Por otro lado están Gérika y Chilamate los cuales tienen una historia cargada de violencia policial a través de desalojos e intimidaciones, lo cual les impidió hasta hace muy poco tiempo establecerse, éstos se encuentran en el distrito de La Virgen.Within the framework of the project “Training for Sustainable Regional Development”, we have carried out this diagnosis in twelve communities and settlements in the canton of Sarapiqui, located in the province of Heredia. The information required for this document was elaborated by sociology students in the Social Diagnosis Workshop course, taught by Dr. Ana María Balbontín. Another important aspect that we want to consider is that from this diagnosis we can make decisions regarding training, so that these communities and settlements have access to a real development, taking into account the fundamental axes for the development of any population unit, not only settlements, communities or cantons but also of the country itself, with an authentic sensitivity both environmentally and socially. The communities and settlements in which we worked were the following: Chilamate Mamate, Gérika, La Chiripa (INTACO), Pablo Presbere, La Chaves, Brisas del Río, Tikarí, Nazareth, La Flaminia, Huetares, Cubujuquí and La Victoria. These settlements and communities present a series of distinctive characteristics that we will develop in the document, but they also have particularities that make them different from others in the canton, for example; Pablo Presbere, La Chaves, Brisas del Río, Tikarí, Nazareth, La Flaminia, Huetares, Cubujuquí, and La Victoria, have very different founding times, and this is what gives them their category of settlement or community. They are located in Horquetas, and have a supply or community. On the other hand, there are Gérika and Chilamate, which have a history of police violence through evictions and intimidation, which prevented them from settling until very recently; they are located in the district of La Virgen.
