Resumen
El término de Propiedad Intelectual (PI) se ha desarrollado por consecuencia del
origen constante de conocimiento e ideas nuevas y esto mismo ha ocasionado
que se generen diversos sistemas de protección a estos nuevos orígenes de
conocimiento o mejor dicho invenciones, ya que al no contar con métodos
adecuados de protección o también por la misma inexistencia de normas
efectivas, el libre desarrollo de conocimiento e ideas puede verse obstaculizado.
Actualmente la PI ha sido altamente relacionada al comercio internacional, es por
esto que a nivel país es necesario tener un marco jurídico que se adapte al nuevo
contexto comercial enfocando a la protección de ideas y conocimientos bajo el
sistema de PI. Al brindar un grado de protección alta Costa Rica como país, puede
obtener ciertos beneficios como competitividad así como atraer la inversión
extranjera al país.
