Estados Unidos.
This article presents the state of art of ethnomathematics in North and Central America. The methodology stems from a literature review of the ethnomathematics research carried out in the region since the 1980s. This has not been an easy task, as the coordinators of each country of the region were responsible for synthesizing the projects carried out in his or her respective country, with objective criteria that limited the number of investigations referenced. The results reveal significant contributions to the development of ethnomathematics research as well as to that of diverse areas of knowledge such as history, anthropology, sociology, and mathematics education. This collaboration is evidence of a consolidation of research groups and lines of inquiry, and documents a vast participation in conferences and publications that represent a community of ethnomathematics practices in the entire region, from Panama to the United States.
