The current problems of indigenous groups in Costa Rica are not fully investigated, due to their small population and dispersion of settlements, which are located in places that are difficult to access, without communication routes. There is a state indifference towards them, who are marginalized from social development policies; Their rights and needs are ignored, they are stripped of what they possess: land, resources and identity. The indigenous people still suffer abuse and disrespect for their culture and live in precarious conditions, with insecurity in their own land, which is threatened by external elements, alien to their interests, for example: by loggers, miners, ranchers, who destroy the ecosystem where they live, the reason for their life and culture.
