Contribuciones epistemológicas de la oralidad a la luz del calypso afrolimonense

Abstract

Presenta como objetivo general: analizar las contribuciones epistemológicas de la oralidad a la luz del calypso afrolimonense. Para comprender la pertinencia del abordaje de la tradición oral dentro del ámbito de la filosofía, y las razones por las que ha sido invisibilizada, se aborda el tema de la violencia epistémica y el racismo epistémico que han sufrido los saberes, conocimientos, tradiciones y experiencias construidos por culturas no europeas ni del norte global. Para caminar hacia la dignificación cognitiva de los pueblos afrodescendientes y la diversidad epistémica se refiere a los ejes principales de la filosofía intercultural latinoamericana, el concepto de interculturalidad epistémica, para hacer énfasis en la pertinencia de reivindicar la oralidad en el ámbito de la epistemología a partir de un ejemplo concreto, esto es, el calypso afrolimonense. En el marco de las propuestas de la filosofía intercultural latinoamericana y la interculturalidad epistémica, se aborda el eje central que es el calypso afrolimonense. Se realiza una contextualización socio-histórica del calypso afrolimonense, sus orígenes, mecanismos utilizados para la transmisión de conocimientos, sus manifestaciones en Costa Rica, y profundiza en conceptos como calypsonians, storytellers y el vínculo de estos últimos con los griots. Finalmente considera pertinente dedicar esta tesis de filosofía al tema de la oralidad y específicamente, al calypso afrolimonense, al ser temas que no se suelen estudiar dentro del ámbito filosófico y que considera son necesarios para comprender la diversidad epistémica y de prácticas que existen en un país como Costa Rica.

Its general objective is to analyze the epistemological contributions of orality in the light of Afro-Limonian calypso. In order to understand the relevance of the approach to the oral tradition within the field of philosophy, and the reasons why it has been made invisible, it addresses the issue of epistemic violence and epistemic racism suffered by the knowledge, knowledges, traditions and experiences built by non-European cultures and those of the global north. In order to move towards the cognitive dignification of Afro-descendant peoples and epistemic diversity, it refers to the main axes of Latin American intercultural philosophy, the concept of epistemic interculturality, to emphasize the relevance of vindicating orality in the field of epistemology based on a concrete example, that is, Afro-Limonian calypso. Within the framework of the proposals of Latin American intercultural philosophy and epistemic interculturality, the central axis of Afro-Limonian calypso is approached. A socio-historical contextualization of Afro-Limonese calypso, its origins, mechanisms used for the transmission of knowledge, its manifestations in Costa Rica, and delves into concepts such as calypsonians, storytellers and the link of the latter with the griots. Finally, he considers it pertinent to dedicate this philosophy thesis to the subject of orality and specifically, to Afro-Limonese calypso, since these are subjects that are not usually studied in the philosophical field and that he considers necessary to understand the epistemic diversity and practices that exist in a country like Costa Rica.
