Resumen
El presente estudio evaluó el conocimiento acerca de conceptos relacionadas con ecología acuática y la actitud proambiental de dos grupos de estudiantes del Colegio Técnico de Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí, Heredia. Uno de estos grupos estuvo conformado por alumnos que participaron en un programa de monitoreo voluntariado llamado Adopte una Quebrada. Para evaluar el programa se aplicó un cuestionario de 39 preguntas, 32 de las cuales fueron respondidas por ambos grupos de estudiantes. Se encontraron diferencias estadísticas significativas entre ambos grupos, tanto a nivel de conocimiento como de actitud hacia el ambiente. Los resultados mostraron que Adopte una Quebrada es un programa que ayuda a incrementar el nivel educativo de los estudiantes, e, incluso los estimula en la toma de acciones hacia la preservación de los recursos naturales. Algunas sugerencias para facilitar la asimilación de la terminología estudiada a lo largo del programa, por parte de los educados se incluyen en el trabajo.
The present study evaluated the knowledge about concepts related to aquatic ecology and the pro-environmental attitude of two groups of students from the Technical College of Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí, Heredia. One of these groups was made up of students who participated in a volunteer monitoring program called Adopte una Quebrada. To evaluate the program, a questionnaire of 39 questions was applied, 32 of which were answered by both groups of students. Statistical differences were found between both groups, both at the level of knowledge and attitude towards the environment. The results showed that Adopt a Quebrada is a program that helps increase the educational level of students, and even encourages them to take actions towards the preservation of natural resources. Some suggestions to facilitate the assimilation of the terminology studied throughout the program, by the educated are included in the work.
