Índice para Ciudades Inteligentes y Sostenibles : el caso de Costa Rica

Abstract

Las ciudades son espacios de convivencia e interacción social, económica y cultural que se han visto afectados por procesos de urbanización acelerados y cambios estructurales que han generados una serie de desafíos agravados por la pandemia. El proyecto se planteó como objetivo comprender estos fenómenos de forma integral y acorde al contexto, a través de un índice de Ciudades Inteligentes y Sostenibles para Costa Rica que coloca a las personas en el centro del desarrollo urbano acorde a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de las Naciones Unidas. Bajo un enfoque holista y multisectorial se construyó un índice que integra ocho dimensiones, cada una contiene seis variables, diseñadas y validadas a través de una amplia revisión bibliográfica y consultas con paneles de personas expertas. El índice fue aplicado a diez ciudades costarricenses, utilizando datos e información del 2019. Se obtuvo un ranking que permite comparar la posición entre las ciudades y sus resultados para cada una de las dimensiones.

Cities are spaces of coexistence and social, economic and cultural interaction that have been seen affected by accelerated urbanization processes and changes structures that have generated a series of challenges aggravated by the pandemic. The project was conceived as The objective is to understand these phenomena comprehensively and according to the context, through an index of Cities Smart and Sustainable for Costa Rica that places the people at the center of urban development according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Under a holistic and multisectoral approach, an index was built that integrates eight dimensions, each containing six variables, designed and validated through extensive review bibliography and consultations with panels of experts. The index was applied to ten Costa Rican cities, using data and information from 2019. A ranking was obtained that allows compare the position between the cities and their results for each of the dimensions.
