La actitud de los estudiantes hacia el aprendizaje de la matemática: un estudio de caso en las secciones 7-2, 7-7 y 7-8, en el Liceo Sinaí del circuito 01 de Pérez Zeledón

Resumen
La finalidad de la investigación fue analizar la actitud de los estudiantes asumida en el estudio de la matemática. El objetivo general de este estudio es investigar la actitud de los estudiantes de las secciones 7-2, 7-7, y 7-8, hacia el aprendizaje de la matemática, en el Liceo Sinaí del circuito 01 de Pérez Zeledón. La investigación presenta una modalidad descriptiva delineada por el paradigma cualitativo. La literatura involucrada está referida a la formación de la actitud, la influencia del medio en ella, la posibilidad de trocarla; estudio cualitativo y de investigación descriptiva; estudio de caso; entrevista en profundidad; reseña histórica sobre el comportamiento desertivo de la institución por la actitud de los alumnos frente a su rendimiento escolar; descripción de aspectos que inciden sobre el comportamiento. Esta investigación constituida en un estudio de caso, utiliza la entrevista en profundidad como técnica para la recolección de datos, tomando como población 16 alumnos con bajos índices de rendimiento académico en el área matemática. De ellos se seleccionó una muestra de nueve estudiantes. Los resultados principales que se obtuvieron apuntan a que las mujeres asumen una mejor actitud frente a los fracasos matemáticos y logran sortearlos. Los estudiantes que cambiaron de actitud fracasaron en menos materias y aunque sus padres tienen poca escolaridad, la actitud asumida por estos mismos alumnos les llevó al éxito, esto es, aprobaron el curso. En cambio la actitud displicente de cinco de ellos les condujo al fracaso en más de dos materias, siete en algunos casos incluyendo la matemática. Como resultado de esto se recomienda enrumbar la educación hacia una modalidad de procesos o secuencias de aprendizaje, donde la interacción docente-alumno sea significativa y personalizada; esto es, no más de cinco alumnos con problemas de rendimiento en matemáticas por grupo. The purpose of the research was to analyze the attitude of students assumed in the study of mathematics. The general objective of this study is to investigate the attitude of the students of sections 7-2, 7-7, and 7-8, towards the learning of mathematics, at Liceo Sinai of circuit 01 of Perez Zeledon. The research presents a descriptive modality delineated by the qualitative paradigm. The literature involved refers to the formation of attitude, the influence of the environment on it, the possibility of changing it; qualitative study and descriptive research; case study; in-depth interview; historical review on the desertive behavior of the institution due to the students' attitude towards their school performance; description of aspects that influence behavior. This research constituted in a case study, uses the in-depth interview as a technique for data collection, taking as population 16 students with low academic performance indexes in the mathematics area. A sample of nine students was selected from them. The main results obtained show that women have a better attitude towards mathematical failures and manage to overcome them. The students who changed their attitude failed fewer subjects and although their parents have little schooling, the attitude assumed by these same students led them to success, i.e., they passed the course. On the other hand, the lackadaisical attitude of five of them led to failure in more than two subjects, seven in some cases including mathematics. As a result, it is recommended to steer education towards a modality of learning processes or sequences, where teacher-student interaction is meaningful and personalized; that is, no more than five students with performance problems in mathematics per group. Constant motivational talks and personal interrelationships to teachers. to speak the same language.
